This is my fourth stay at Casa Sol Mar – this time for a full year. I’ve lived all over Mexico and CSM is the best combination yet of locations, quality, and sheer value for the money, with very good daily maintenance by friendly and competent staff, and speedy resolution of any problem that may arise. Bright and attractive apartment, a lovely pool in a relaxing setting, and Merida a quick – and cheap!- bus ride away – and much more. What’s not to like? Top marks to Casa Sol Mar and many thanks for making my stays so and memorable.

Great getaway
We stayed at this wonderful condo for the month of January 2016. It is close enough to the beach (1 block) to enjoy but not so close that you have noise. The town of Progreso is a lovely place to visit, great restaurants and lots to do. Casa Sol Mar is perfectly situated for excursions, with or without a car. There is a travel agent one block away who works very well with guests. All the other guests when we were there were delightful and we had a wonderful time getting to know new people and enjoy a new place. After the hustle and bustle of Cancun, it was great. Merida, the capital of Yucatan is only a short drive or taxi away, and has lots of culture and even more great restaurants. The manager, only a block away, was great to work with. We were lucky to have Ron and Carol, two of the owners there when we were. What great people! Can’t wait to go again.

What a treasure you have here. Thank you for sharing it with us. The reality actually exceeded our rather high expectations. Close to the beach yet away from the crowds with excellent and varied shopping nearby. The building is clean, well maintained & secure, allowing you to feel safely esconced in small- town Mexico. Infinitely preferable to the larger, sterile, resorts & hotels. When can we come back ??

We spent the month of September 2013 at Casa sol Mar in Progreso, MX. Casa sol Mar is located one Mexico block off the Malecon that runs along the beautiful turquoise beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. This was a perfect location because we wanted to experience the Malecon and all its restaurants, bars and shopping opportunities, but did not want to deal with all the people. When you wanted to appreciate quiet time, it was a very short 3 minute walk back to Casa sol Mar and its comfortable confines. The Malecon Drive is one of the biggest attraction is Progreso. You have to see it to appreciate it. There are also beach and water views from the upper balconies and the roof top of Casa sol Mar. Casa sol Mar offers everything you need for a week or 2 stay. If you decide to stay longer, consultant the property manager for more details. The condo offers plenty of room. It has a separate bedroom, modern bathroom, fully equipment kitchen and a living room area that has cable TV and WiFi. The condo was very clean and no signs of insects. The complex’s common area offers a pool, an outdoor kitchen and a sitting bar for your enjoyment. It also has an outside shower, a half bath, TV and stereo. The neighborhood around Casa sol Mar is very family friendly with the nicest locals you will ever meet. My wife and I travel a lot and our stay in Progreso, MX and Casa sol Mar is on our top 10 list for places to stay. The property’s management offers superior service. The service we received rank’s #1 on our list.

Casa Sol Mar is the perfect place to stay while you experience real Mexico and enjoy its history, people, and culture. The accommodations and location were superb – very clean and secure, with a nice pool, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchens, and modern bathrooms. All this and only steps from the Malecon where you will find excellent restaurants and everything else it has to offer. It is only a 10 minute walk to the main street of town and all its amenities, including a well stocked grocery store. The main bus depot to Merida (just over $2 return), the fresh meat and produce market, and the main city square are also in the downtown core – no need for a car! We were so impressed with Casa Sol Mar that we have already booked for 2012!
Recommended for: age 55+, families with teenagers, sight seeing, tourists without a car
